Optimist Summer Day Camp

Summer Day Camp 2017
Our Summer Camp program will give your child (ages 6-12) the opportunity to enjoy a summer outdoors while participating in a variety of activities. The camp will run Jul 3 to Sept 1, 2017 (9 weekly sessions) from 9:00am - 4:30pm daily in Brooklin Memorial Park, 51 Winchester Road East, Brooklin. After hours supervision is available for an extra fee. August rain days at Mount Zion Masonic Lodge, 14 Cassels Rd E Brooklin. Download the 2017 Registration Form (PDF file 1.1mb)

Activities may include:

  • Soft Sports: soccer, baseball, basketball, frisbee, tennis
  • Games: cards, board games, relays and races
  • Exploring Nature: hikes, creek walks & exploration, observation tours
  • Creative Activity: play acting, singing, crafts, etc.
  • Wednesday outings
  • Friday BBQ lunch (rain days substitute with pizza)

Program will be adapted each week to meet the needs of the youth participants (Themes and programs displayed subject to change in June.) Rain days will be held at Luther Vipond Memorial Arena, 51 Winchester Road East, Brooklin. Youth must provide their own bag lunch and snacks.

Optimists, Bringing out the best in kids

CIT Counsellor in Training Program
This program is specifically designed for youth aged 13-16 interested in seeking future work as a camp counsellor. The program has been developed over a seven year period and will run one three-week session this summer. The session will run Aug 7-25, 2017 from 9:00am - 4:30pm daily in Brooklin Memorial Park (next to the arena). The fee for 3 weeks is $350 and include uniform t-shirt and participation in Wednesday outings. A select number of successful candidates will be invited to continue volunteering at no extra cost.
